Fenton holds NCAA Division II Indoor Championship meet records in the 400m and 4x400m relay, and her time of 23.03 in the outdoor 200m ranks 10th all-time.

Following her superb Lincoln career, Fenton went on to have tremendous success at the national level. Fenton qualified for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, and won silver medals in both the 400m and the 4x400m relay. In the process, Fenton became the first Jamaican ever to medal in the women's 400m. Fenton later won the gold medal in the 4x400m relay at the 2001 World Championships and finished her illustrious career with nine total international medals.
