An outstanding scorer and defender, George Pruitt totaled 1,630 points and 744 rebounds between 1955-59 for the Blue Tiger men's basketball team. A four-year starter, Pruitt was named an Associated Press All-American following the 1958-59 season. Following his time at Lincoln, Pruitt was drafted in the first round by the Kansas City Steers of the American Basketball Association, and also played in the American Basketball League with the Pittsburgh Rens.
