The 2003 Lincoln Women's Outdoor Track & Field team made history by becoming the first LU team ever to win a national championship. The team helped sparked a dynasty, as it ended up being the first of five consecutive Blue Tiger teams to win the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Lincoln scored an impressive 98 points at the national title meet, beating runner-up St. Augustine by 31 points. The Blue Tigers, who previously had never finished higher than third at a national championship meet, won seven events, including all three of the sprints. Lincoln also swept both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays and had individual champions in the 100m hurdles and the heptathlon. The Blue Tigers turned in 13 total All-American performances, with Shandria Brown and Nikkisha Maynard each winning multiple individual national championships.
