A three-time all-conference selection, Harry Stokes helped the Blue Tigers win 15 games combined in 1951 and 1952 playing as both an offensive and defensive lineman. Stokes played all three positions on the offensive line, ultimately earning All-MWAA honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. In 1952, Stokes was named to the Pittsburgh Courier All-American team after leading LU to an 8-0-1 record and a No. 2 ranking in the Courier's final national poll.
Over his final two seasons, Stokes' blocking allowed Lincoln to outscore its opponents 557-193. The 1952 football team was the first Lincoln squad since 1931 to finish the season without a loss and was inducted into the Lincoln Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013.
In January of 1954, Stokes tragically passed away in an automobile accident.
