The 1965 Two Mile Relay Team, comprising of Roosevelt Boozer, George Harris, Duane Milam and Clarence Wine, made history by becoming the first HBCU team to win that event in the history of the prestigious Texas Relays. The foursome were also the first historically black college team to enter the two mile relay at the Texas Relays, and won in a record-breaking time of 7:15. That mark remains the best in the history of Lincoln track & field. The 1965 two mile squad also picked up wins at the Emporia State Relays, the Kansas State Relays and the Mayor Daily Relays and ultimately earned All-American honors.
