What is SAAC?

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a committee made of student-athletes that provide insight as what it is to be a student-athlete. The committee also provides input on the rules and regulations that affect student-athletes.

How did SAAC get started?

An Association-wide SAAC was adopted at the 1989 NCAA Convention primarily formed to review and offer student-athlete input on NCAA activities and proposed legislation that affected student-athlete welfare. In 1997, the NCAA federated along divisional lines and expanded SAAC to represent the three divisions in NCAA.

What is the purpose of SAAC?

The purpose of SAAC varies across conferences and institutions but should reflect the primary purposes which are:
·         Generate a voice for the student-athletes within the institution
·         Suggest potential NCAA legislation
·         Organize, promote and participate in community service efforts
·         Provide a means for student-athlete representation on campus

The Mission of the LU SAAC Committee:

The mission of the Lincoln University Student Athlete Advisory Committee is in accordance with that of the NCAA Division II; to enhance the overall student-athlete experience and overall well being, offering opportunities that protect student-athletes’ by providing a voice within the administration and to promote a positive image by giving back to both the campus and surrounding communities.
