JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced on Wednesday (May 14) that Lincoln's women's and men's track & field teams combined to earn 27 USTFCCCA All-Region awards.
Shevanae Thomas led the LU women's team with four all-region awards, earning the recognition in the 400m, the 400m hurdles, and the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
Shantae George was next with three all-region honors, as she received the recognition in the 100m, the 200m and the 4x100m relay. Rounding out Lincoln's 4x100m relay honorees were
Aaliyannah Anderson and
Denita Jackson.
Anderson additionally received all-region recognition in the 100m hurdles while
Shaneal Clarke Giddings earned all-region status in both the 4x400m relay and the 800m.
Odeshia Nanton was the third member of the 4x400m relay team to earn the distinction, and she also took home an all-region award in the 400m hurdles.
Britney Brown was named all-region in the 4x400m relay while Britannia Ingram received the status in the triple jump.
Three members of the Lincoln men's track & field team earned all-region accolades, including Clinton Laguerre and
Sharim Hamilton, who both received the distinction in the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay.
Emmanuel Rwotomiya, meanwhile, was named all-region in the 4x400m relay and the 200m.
Leondre Francis closed out the honorees from the 4x400m relay squad and
Reuben Nichols earned the distinction in the 400m.
Dervin Walker took home all-region honors in the 100m,
Wesley Tyndall received the award in the long jump and
Malik Drummond was tabbed all-region in the triple jump.
The top-five individuals in each event from each region receive USTFCCCA All-Region accolades, as do each member of the top-three relay squads from each region.Â
