DES MOINES, Iowa - The Lincoln women's outdoor track & field team won the 4x400m relay, highlighting LU's performance at the Drake Relays, hosted by Drake University from Wednesday (April 22) through Saturday (April 25).
The foursome of
Ezthia Maycock,
Odeshia Nanton, Dayjonique Cato and
Quana Walker crossed the finish line in the 4x400m relay in 3:40.72 to claim victory. In the 4x100m relay, the team of
Alexis Summers,
Tonya Rawlins,
Aaliyannah Anderson and Cato clocked in at 46.06 to take second place. Anderson also had a seventh-place showing in the 100m hurdles, as she timed in at 13.70.
The Lincoln men's outdoor track & field team impressed in the field events, with
Dejone Raymond tying for second in the high jump with a mark of 2.08m.
Malik Drummond was the runner-up in the triple jump with a distance of 14.99m, and
Dimetre Browne placed ninth in the long jump with a leap of 7.04m.
The team of Browne,
Tajai Duffus,
Dimitri Beckford and
Rosean Smith placed third in the preliminaries of the 4x100m relay with a time of 40.60. In the 4x200m relay, the foursome of Browne, Drummond,
Keano Charles and Namarius Warren clocked in at 1:26.50 to come in eighth. Finally, in the 4x400m relay, the squad of
Donovan Bruce,
Ryan Jackson, Charles and Browne finished in 3:09.93 to take third place.
This weekend, both Blue Tiger track & field teams will compete in the GLVC Outdoor Championships, held in Bolivar, Mo. from Thursday through Saturday (April 30-May 2).
