BOLIVAR, Mo. - The Lincoln women's outdoor track & field team won three events at the Bearcat Invitational, hosted by Southwest Baptist University from Thursday through Saturday (March 26-28). The Blue Tigers scored 61 points to finish in fourth place overall.
Two of the wins belonged to
Hannah Fatade, who took the crown in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:50.59 and won the 800m in 2:16.29. In the latter event,
Hannah Charles (2:16.31) was the runner-up and
Jeneail Henry rounded out the top-three with a time of 2:17.95.
Odeshia Nanton was the victor of the 400m hurdles after clocking in at 59.05 and
Ezthia Maycock timed in at 1:04.39 to finish 10th in that event. Nanton and Maycock later joined with
Alexis Summers and Malika Countain to post a time of 3:47.62 in the 4x400m relay, good for third place.
Tonya Rawlins placed ninth in both the 200m (24.52) and the preliminaries of the 100m dash (12.18). Henry placed seventh in the 1500m with a time of 4:48.91. Rounding out LU's performance in the track events was the 4x100m relay squad of Rawlins, Summers, Maycock and
Aaliyannah Anderson, which took fourth place in 46.20.
Kimeisha Francis also represented the Blue Tigers with a pair of high finishes in the field events. Francis placed seventh in the high jump with a height of 1.60m. In the long jump, she had a leap of 5.28m to come in eighth.
Lincoln's next scheduled meet is the Arkansas Spring Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. on Saturday, April 11.
