FAYETTE, Mo. - The Lincoln women's outdoor track & field team won six events at the CMU Invite, hosted by Central Methodist University on Friday and Saturday (March 28-29).
The Blue Tigers swept the top-three of the 400m hurdles, with
Shevanae Thomas winning in 1:00.66.
Odeshia Nanton was the runner-up after clocking in at 1:00.88 while
Deschanique Douglas rounded out the top-three with her time of 1:06.03.
Lincoln swept the relays, with the foursome of
Aaliyannah Anderson,
Shantae George,
Mattie Brown and
Monae Carey taking the crown in the 4x100m event in 46.37. In the 4x400m relay, the team of
Abigail Brooks, George, Nanton and Thomas combined to win in 3:41.57.
Brooks (56.63) and
Namibia Clavier (57.99) respectively took first and second in the 400m while George was the victor of the 100m dash with a time of 11.59.
Denita Jackson, meanwhile, came in eighth in the 100m after timing in at 12.34. In the 200m, Anderson (24.99) finished in second, Clavier (24.76) claimed sixth and Jackson (25.01) came in eighth.
Anderson won the 100m hurdles in 13.96 and
Brittania Ingram was the champion of the triple jump with a distance of 11.44m. Ingram also claimed seventh in the long jump with a leap of 5.44m. In the high jump,
Nehlia Mills (1.56m) was the runner-up and Nanton (1.51m) took seventh.
Britney Brown had a pair of strong results, finishing as the runner-up in the 800m (2:18.69) and taking fifth in the 1500m (5:01.96). Hannah Fatade came in sixth in the 800m, posting a time of 2:22.75, and clocked in at 5:04.32 to finish in seventh in the 1500m.
The Blue Tigers will be in Jefferson City, Mo. next Saturday (April 5) to host the Lincoln Open at Dwight T. Reed Stadium.
