Annalisa Barclay took sixth in the long jump, highlighting the Lincoln women's track & field team's performance on the second day of the MIAA Outdoor Championships, hosted by LU on Saturday (May 6).
Barclay's longest jump of 5.81m was good for sixth-place in the long jump and scored three points for the Blue Tigers, who are in ninth through two days of competition. The majority of the scored events will take place on Sunday (May 7).
Sophia Myers (13.91) and
Shanette Allison (13.96) turned in two of the three-quickest times in the 100m hurdles, and both athletes will compete in the finals of that event on Sunday. Myers also qualified for the finals of the 400m hurdles in 1:02.80.
Maria Diamond had the fastest time of the preliminaries, finishing the 400m hurdles in 59.29.
Three Blue Tigers will compete in the finals of the 100m dash:
Shenese Walker (11.46),
Hughasia Fyffe (11.70) and
Jovanna Gustave (11.80).
Monae Carey also nearly made the finals in that event, taking ninth with a time of 11.99.
Lincoln will additionally have two finals entries in the 200m dash, as Fyffe (24.12) and
Shantae George (24.35) each finished among the top-eight in the preliminaries.
