JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln women's outdoor track & field team will enter the national championship meet ranked No. 6 in the country while the Blue Tiger men also remain in the top-20 in the final United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II rankings of 2022-23.
The LU women are the highest-ranked MIAA program in the country, earning 113.02 points to hold the No. 6 rating. The Blue Tigers are one spot ahead of No. 7 Pittsburg State (109.33 points), while the other ranked MIAA programs include No. 10 Northwest Missouri (84.95), No. 11 Fort Hays State (82.18), No. 15 Central Missouri (68.85), No. 16 Missouri Southern (56.65) and No. 22 Washburn (47.33). West Texas A&M leads the women's rankings with 274.35 points, while Azusa Pacific (263.13), Minnesota State (238.72), Grand Valley State (236.18) and Adams State (167.91) round out the top-five.
The Lincoln men, meanwhile, collected 65.61 points to check in at No. 18 entering the Division II championships. Five other MIAA programs are mentioned in the top-25, led by Pittsburg State, which is No. 1 with 248.14 points. West Texas A&M is No. 2 with 224.21 points, and is followed in the top-five by Grand Valley State (171.08), Adams State (158.65) and Colorado-Mines (149.25). The other ranked MIAA programs include No. 7 Missouri Southern (128.67), No. 11 Central Missouri (103.31), No. 14 Nebraska Kearney (82.89) and No. 21 Northwest Missouri (58.59).
Both Lincoln teams are in Pueblo, Colo. for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships from Thursday (May 25) through Saturday (May 27).
