Lincoln Women No. 6, LU Men No. 18 in the Nation


JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln women's outdoor track & field team is on the cusp of the national top-five while the Blue Tiger men remain in the top-20 in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II rankings.

The LU women are the highest-ranked MIAA program in the country, earning 114.30 points to hold the No. 6 rating. The Blue Tigers are one spot ahead of No. 7 Pittsburg State (112.30 points), while the other ranked MIAA programs include No. 10 Northwest Missouri (86.98), No. 11 Missouri Southern (84.79), No. 12 Fort Hays State (77.45), No. 15 Central Missouri (67.55) and No. 22 Washburn (48.65). West Texas A&M leads the women's rankings with 271.40 points, while Azusa Pacific (256.51), Grand Valley State (245.89), Minnesota State (217.60) and Adams State (175.11) round out the top-five.

The Lincoln men, meanwhile, collected 64.09 points to check in at No. 18 this week. Four other MIAA programs are mentioned in the top-25, led by Pittsburg State, which is No. 1 with 250.01 points. West Texas A&M is No. 2 with 225.20 points, and is followed in the top-five by Grand Valley State (169.67), Adams State (155.39) and Colorado-Mines (149.78). The other ranked MIAA programs include No. 8 Missouri Southern (123.30), No. 11 Central Missouri (105.81) and No. 14 Nebraska Kearney (82.21).
