LAWRENCE, Kan. - Lincoln's women's and men's outdoor track & field teams combined to win four events and post 14 top-10 finishes at the Kansas Relays, hosted by the University of Kansas this past weekend (April 14-16).
Shenese Walker was the victor of the 100m dash, posting the event's top time of 11.59, while
Monae Carey finished in fourth in 12.05.
Annalisa Barclay won the triple jump with a distance of 12.47m, and LU's 4x100m relay team clocked in at 45.91 to win that event.
Maria Diamond had LU's other victory, taking the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:00.46.
In the 400m dash,
Shevanae Thomas claimed third place after timing in at 57.07, and
Denita Jackson finished in fourth at 57.65. Rounding out the notable performances for the LU women was
Shanette Allison, who took sixth in the 100m hurdles after timing in at 14.45.
On the men's side,
Troy Whyte was the runner-up in the 110m hurdles after clocking in at 14.25, and
Rashane Bartlett finished in third at 14.28. In the 400m hurdles,
Kewani Campbell (52.57) finished in second and
Shanthamoi Brown (53.12) came in third. Michael Cunningham (1:58.32) placed 10th in the 800m, and Malik Dummond (14.37m) rounded out the top-10 of the triple jump.
