Lincoln Women Ranked No. 14 Heading Into Nationals


JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln women's indoor track & field team is ranked No. 14 in the country entering this weekend's NCAA Division II Championships, according to the final United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II rankings of the 2022-23 indoor season.

The Blue Tiger women, who will have five individual entries and one relay entry into the national meet, received 47.34 points in this week's ratings, which were calculated solely based on the athletes each program has competing this weekend. Only two other MIAA programs are rated higher than LU: Pittsburg State, which is No. 5 after collecting 116.53 points, and Central Missouri, which earned the No. 12 ranking with 51.65 points.

Minnesota State is the favorite heading into nationals, garnering 237.26 points to receive the top overall ranking. West Texas A&M (185.33 points), Adams State (163.77) and Grand Valley State (128.68) complete the top-five, while No. 15 Missouri Southern (44.58) and No. 21 Northwest Missouri (38.04) were the other MIAA programs receiving a mention.

The 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships, which will be held in Virginia Beach, Va. on March 10-11.
