JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln women's indoor track & field team is ranked No. 15 in the country while the Blue Tiger men are No. 25 in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II rankings, released on Tuesday (Feb. 21).
The Blue Tiger women garnered 44.89 points to check in at No. 15. Minnesota State leads the ratings with 225.74 points, while the top-four is rounded out by Adams State (188.94 points), Grand Valley State (173.50) and West Texas A&M (161.89). Other MIAA programs mentioned in the women's top-25 include No. 5 Pittsburg State (101.79), No. 10 Northwest Missouri (88.09) and No. 11 Central Missouri (59.97).
The Lincoln men round out the national top-25 after earning 34.02 points this week. Pittsburg State leads the men's ratings with 235.80 points, and is followed in the top-five by Adams State (198.72), West Texas A&M (156.41), Colorado-Mines (110.88) and Grand Valley State 102.87). MIAA members Missouri Southern (93.67) and Central Missouri (78.05) are respectively No. 6 and No. 7, while No. 10 Fort Hays State (65.59) and No. 22 Nebraska Kearney (44.52) are the other nationally-ranked MIAA programs.
Both Blue Tiger track & field programs will travel to Pittsburg, Kan. this weekend for the MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Pittsburg State University on Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 25-26).
