Women's Track and Field Dan Carr, Assistant AD for Media Relations

LU Women No. 6, Men No. 11 in First National Rankings


JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln women's indoor track & field team is ranked No. 6 in the country and the Blue Tiger men are No. 11 in the first United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Division II ratings of 2023.

The Lincoln women are just outside the national top-five after earning 92.68 points. Minnesota State leads the rankings with 220.54 points, with Grand Valley State (170.51 points) and Northwest Missouri (156.86) rounding out the top-three. Pittsburg State (110.61) and Azusa Pacific (106.81) are the other teams currently rated ahead of the Blue Tigers while No. 14 Central Missouri (44.95) is also representing the MIAA in the top-25.

On the men's side, Lincoln collected 75.43 points and is just outside the national top-10. Pittsburg State led the rankings after garnering 162.85 points, and is followed in the top-five by Adams State (162.13), Colorado-Colorado Springs (123.18), West Texas A&M (106.12) and Grand Valley State (100.77). Other nationally-ranked MIAA programs include No. 8 Missouri Southern (85.43), No. 10 Fort Hays State (77.20), No. 14 Central Missouri (60.60) and No. 17 Nebraska Kearney (44.25).

Both Blue Tiger track & field programs will be in action on Friday (Jan. 27) at the Jayhawk Invitational, hosted in Lawrence, Kan. by the University of Kansas.
