INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After leading the Lincoln men's soccer team to a season-opening victory over Northeastern State, goalkeeper Vincent Osei has been named the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week. The league office announced the award on Monday (Sept. 8).

Osei faced 14 shots and made nine saves to lead the Blue Tigers to a 3-1 victory on Saturday (Sept. 6). Osei shut out the RiverHawks in the first half and did not allow a goal until late in the contest, when LU was already ahead 3-0.

This is the second career GLVC Defensive Player of the Week award for Osei, who previously earned the honor on Sept. 9, 2024.

The Blue Tigers travel to St. Louis, Mo. on Friday (Sept. 12) to play Harris Stowe in a battle between Missouri's two HBCU programs. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CDT.
