Final Events
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln men's outdoor track & field team won eight events in rainy conditions at the Lincoln Open, hosted by the Blue Tigers on Saturday (April 5).
The Blue Tigers started the day by winning the 4x100m relay, with the foursome of Tajai Duffus,
Dervin Walker,
Jamar Treasure and
Emmanuel Rwotomiya timing in at 41.60. Walker also won the 200m with a time of 23.72 while
Christopher Allen (25.19) came in fifth,
Gabriel Williams (25.58) placed sixth and
Ryan Jackson (26.25) checked in at eighth.
Duffus was the victor of the 100m dash, clocking in at 11.22, and Jackson took fourth after finishing in 11.70. In the 400m hurdles,
Sharim Hamilton (54.52) and Clinton Laguerre (54.89) swept the top-two spots, respectively, and Ryan Hayes placed fifth with a time of 59.38.
Joshua Dottin, meanwhile, won the 110m hurdles in 15.84.
Leondre Francis posted the winning time of 48.49 in the 400m dash, with
Donovan Bruce taking fourth in 50.23.
Nathan Allen rounded out Lincoln in the track events by taking 10th in the 800m in 2:07.24. In the field events,
Dejone Raymond won the high jump with a mark of 1.90m while
Wesley Tyndall (6.94m) and
Jamir Hunt (5.79m) respectively finished first and fifth in the long jump.
Next Friday and Saturday (April 11-12), Lincoln will be in Wichita, Kan. to compete in the KT Woodman Classic, hosted by Wichita State University.
