LU Men Favorites to Win GLVC, Women Picked Second


INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced that the Lincoln men's track & field team was the favorite to win the 2025 league outdoor championship while the Blue Tiger women were picked second in the annual GLVC Preseason Coaches Polls.

The Lincoln men, which won the conference title in indoor track & field, received seven first-place votes and 162 overall points to be chosen first in the preseason poll. Lewis, which received four first-place votes, was next with 156 points while Missouri S&T, the team that claimed the other three first-place votes, was picked third with 145 points. Indianapolis (126 points) and Southwest Baptist (112) closed out the top-five.

In the women's preseason poll, Lincoln received two first-place votes and 182 overall points en route to being selected second. Lewis was named the preseason favorite after garnering 12 first-place votes and 194 overall points. Indianapolis also got a first-place nod and totaled 168 points to be chosen third. Southwest Baptist (154) and Missouri S&T (145) round out the top-five.

Both Blue Tiger track & field teams are in Jefferson City, Mo. on Saturday (April 5) to host the Lincoln Open. Field events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. CDT while the running events are slated to begin at 1:10 p.m. CDT.
