LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Lincoln men's outdoor track & field team won three events at the Rock Chalk Classic, the final meet of the regular season, hosted by the University of Kansas on Saturday (April 27).
Reuben Nichols was the victor of the 200m, timing in at 21.37, and Tajai Duffus claimed fifth in 21.85. In the 400m dash,
Emmanuel Rwotomiya won with a time of 47.22, Clinton Laguerre (47.84) came in fourth,
Donovan Bruce (48.58) checked in at seventh and
Sharim Hamilton (48.93) finished in ninth.
In the 400m hurdles, Hamilton (52.21) and Laguerre (52.28) respectively took first and second while
Joshua Dottin (57.30) placed sixth and Ryan Hayes (58.98) came in seventh. Dottin was the runner-up in the 110m hurdles, clocking in at 14.51, and Duffus was the runner-up in the 100m dash, timing in at 10.63. The 4x100m relay team of Nichols, Duffus,
Wesley Tyndall and
Ryan Jackson also turned in a second-place finish, clocking in at 41.40.
In the field events,
Malik Drummond was the runner-up of the triple jump with a distance of 14.88m and took fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.82m. Tyndall finished as the runner-up in the long jump with a leap of 6.93m. Meanwhile, in the high jump, Dejone Raymone rounded out the top-three with a height of 2.01m.
Lincoln will next compete in the GLVC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held in Romeoville, Ill. on May 1-3.
