INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After finishing a pair of events with two of the top times in the nation,
Emmanuel Rwotomiya, a sprinter on the Lincoln men's outdoor track & field team, was named the GLVC Men's Track Athlete of the Week on Wednesday (April 2).
Rwotomiya took third in the 200m at the CMU Invite last weekend (March 28-29) with a time of 20.61, the fastest time in the GLVC and the second-quickest in NCAA Division II. Rwotomiya also partnered with Clinton Laguerre,
Sharim Hamilton and
Leondre Francis to win the 4x400m relay in 3:06.23, the fastest in Division II by more than two seconds.
This is the second career GLVC Track Athlete of the Week award for Rwotomiya, who earned the accolade during indoor season back on Dec. 18. This is also the first-ever GLVC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award bestowed upon a member of the Lincoln men's track & field program.
The Blue Tigers will be in Jefferson City, Mo. next Saturday (April 5) to host the Lincoln Open at Dwight T. Reed Stadium.
