Odeshia Nanton and
Aaliyannah Anderson picked up victories as the Lincoln women's outdoor track & field team opened its 2025 season at the Miner Invitational, hosted by Missouri S&T on Friday and Saturday (March 21-22).
Both wins came in the hurdles, as Nanton was victorious in the 400m event with a time of 1:00.64. Anderson, meanwhile, was the winner of the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.27.
Deschanique Douglas (1:06.18) placed sixth in the 400m hurdles while
Ava Amey claimed sixth in the 100m hurdles.
Brittania Ingram posted a third-place result in the long jump with her leap of 5.63m and the foursome of Anderson,
Denita Jackson,
Monae Carey and
Mattie Brown timed in at 48.28 to take fourth in the 4x100m relay. Hannah Fatade, meanwhile, took fourth in the 800m (2:22.42) and eighth in the 1500m (4:56.15).
Jackson clocked in at 24.93 to finish in seventh in the 200m while Anderson placed ninth with a time of 24.99. Jackson also closed out the top-10 of the 100m dash after turning in a time of 12.58.
Namibia Clavier also had a top-10 result for the Blue Tigers, as she ended the 400m dash in ninth place after timing in at 1:00.02.
Up next for the Blue Tigers is the CMU Invite, hosted by Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. next Friday and Saturday (March 28-29).
