Odeshia Nanton won the 400m hurdles and the Lincoln women's outdoor track & field team posted six runner-up finishes against Division I competition at the Jayhawk Spring Fling, hosted by the University of Kansas on Saturday (March 21).
At LU's first meet of the 2026 season, Nanton was the victor of the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.36 while
Ezthia Maycock finished in second at 1:04.86. Malika Countain was the runner-up of the 400m dash after timing in at 58.46. The Blue Tiger 4x400m relay team also had a second-place showing after clocking in at 3:50.36.
In the 200m, Alexis Summer (24.41) placed second while
Tonya Rawlins (25.42) took seventh and Countain (25.48) came in ninth.
Aaliyannah Anderson was the runner-up in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.82.
Mya Williams, meanwhile, claimed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 4.28m.
Hannah Fatade had LU's other runner-up finish of the meet after posting a time of 2:14.57 in the 800m.
Hannah Charles (2:18.90) checked in at fourth while
Jeneail Henry (2:22.33) placed fifth. In the 1500m, Fatade took third in 5:01.54 while Henry (5:24.66) rounded out the top-five.
Lincoln continues its season at the Bearcat Invitational, hosted by Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo. from Thursday through Saturday (March 26-28).
