EMPORIA, Kan. - Lincoln's outdoor track & field teams opened competition at the 2024 NCAA Division II Championships on Thursday (May 23).
In the women's 400m hurdles, both
Odeshia Nanton (58.93) and
Maria Diamond (59.47) qualified for the finals.
Shevanae Thomas finished the preliminaries in 10th with a time of 59.70 to earn second team All-American honors.
Shantae George, meanwhile, earned second team All-American distinction in the 100m dash after finishing the preliminaries in ninth with a time of 11.40.
In the women's 4x100m relay, the foursome of George, Thomas,
Monae Carey and Aaliyannah Anderson finished in 13th after timing in at 45.61.
Sharim Hamilton represented the Blue Tiger men's team in the 400m hurdles, where he qualified for the finals with the fifth-quickest time of 51.49.
Day two of the three-day national championship meet will take place on Friday (May 24).
