LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Lincoln men's outdoor track & field team recorded 16 top-10 finishes at the Rock Chalk Classic, hosted by the University of Kansas on Saturday (April 27).
Malik Drummond won the triple jump with a distance of 15.21m while
Melon Lowenfield placed 10th with a mark of 12.85m. Lowenfield (7.06m) and Dimetri Browne (6.99m) respectively came in sixth and seventh in the long jump.
Dejone Raymond, meanwhile, placed seventh in the high jump with a height of 1.92m.
Sharim Hamilton (53.72) won the 400m hurdles while
Shanthamoi Brown (56.55) and
Joshua Dottin (1:01.59) respectively came in fifth and eighth. In the 110m hurdles, Dottin checked in at fifth with a time of 14.80. In the 4x100m relay, Lincoln took third after timing in at 41.09.
Antwaan Walker (10.60) and
Dimitri Beckford (10.62) took seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 100m. In the 200m,
Emmanuel Rwotomiya (21.11) placed fourth and Walker (21.53) came in seventh. Rwotomiya finished in fourth in the 400m, clocking in at 47.89, while
Donovan Bruce placed 10th in that event with a time of 49.54.
The Blue Tigers will compete in the MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship next week, which will be hosted by Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo. on May 3-5.
