LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Lincoln men's and women's outdoor track & field teams combined to post 18 top-eight finishes at the Kansas Relays, hosted by the University of Kansas from Thursday through Saturday (April 18-20).
In the men's 400m hurdles,
Sharim Hamilton was the winner with a time of 52.41, and
Shanthamoi Brown (52.74) was the runner-up while
Kewani Campbell (53.31) came in fourth. The Blue Tigers took third in the 4x100m relay, timing in at 41.14, and checked in at fourth in the 4x400m relay, clocking in at 3:14.33.
Campbell also had a fourth-place result in the 800m, where he turned in a time of 1:56.41.
Emmanuel Rwotomiya placed third in the 400m after clocking in at 47.93.
Davian Clarke, meanwhile, finished in seventh in the 100m with a time of 10.83.
The Blue Tiger women won the preliminaries of the 4x100m relay with a time of 46.75 and were the runner-up of the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:46.71. In the 400m hurdles,
Odeshia Nanton was the runner-up, timing in at 59.42, while Shevane Thomas (1:01.42) came in fifth and
Maria Diamond (1:03.17) placed seventh.
Denita Jackson (24.89) took fifth in the 200m and
Shaneal Clarke Giddings (2:17.94) was the runner-up in the 800m. In the 400m, Clarke Giddings (55.64) checked in at fifth and Jackson (59.34) rounded out the top-eight. Doreen Onchangu closed out Lincoln with a fifth-place performance in the 1500m, as she timed in at 4:53.81.
Both Blue Tiger track & field teams will return to Lawrence next Saturday (April 27) to compete in the Rock Chalk Classic.
