MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Lincoln men's indoor track & field team posted 15 top-10 finishes at the Bearcat Open, hosted by Northwest Missouri State University on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 2-3).
Wesley Tyndall won the long jump with a leap of 7.25m while Dimetri Browne was the runner-up with a distance of 7.11m.
Dejone Raymond took third in the high jump with a mark of 1.98m and later claimed ninth in the triple jump at 13.25m.
The foursome of
Sharim Hamilton,
Emmanuel Rwotomiya,
Leondre Francis and
Reuben Nichols finished second in the 4x400m relay, posting a time of 3:11.70, and Nichols individually took second in the 200m (21.52) and third in the 400m (47.88). Meanwhile, in the 600-yard, Daujaughn Murray finished in fourth (1:12.23), Hamilton placed sixth (1:12.79) and
Donovan Bruce took seventh (1:13.01).
Lincoln had four of the top-10 finishes in the 400m, with Francis placing sixth in 48.42. Rwotomiya (48.64) came in seventh and Hamilton (49.10) ended the race in ninth. In the 200m, Rwotomiya (21.85) checked in at fifth and
Antwaan Walker (22.12) claimed ninth.
Up next for the Blue Tigers is the Ichabod Invitational, hosted by Washburn University in Topeka, Kan. next Saturday (Feb. 10).
