Final Results
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln men's track & field team took third place at the 2023 MIAA Championships, hosted by LU at Dwight T. Reed Stadium from Friday through Sunday (May 5-7). The Blue Tigers won four events and scored 92 points.
Lincoln swept the top-three of the 400m hurdles, with
Troy Whyte winning in 52.20,
Shanthamoi Brown finishing as the runner-up in 52.44, and
Kewani Campbell claiming third in 53.13. In the 400m dash,
Reuben Nichols posted the winning time of 46.62, and
Leondre Francis came in sixth in 48.80.
The 4x400m relay team of Francis, Whyte, Brown and Nichols won the MIAA title in 3:09.76. The Blue Tigers took third in the 4x100m relay, with the foursome of
Dimitri Beckford, Whyte,
Shemar Fletcher and
Jamar Treasure clocking in at 40.29.
Lincoln had another victory in the 200m, as Nichols won with a time of 20.82. Fletcher, meanwhile, came in third in 21.06. Whyte (13.67) and
Rashane Bartlett (13.81) respectively finished in second and fourth in the 110m hurdles. In the field events,
Malik Drummond (15.42m) was the runner-up in the triple jump and Wesley Tyndall (7.25m) placed seventh in the long jump.
