LAWRENCE, Kan. - Lincoln's men's and women's outdoor track & field teams posted a combined 17 top-eight finishes at the Rock Chalk Classic, hosted by the University of Kansas on Saturday (April 29).
Rashane Bartlett won the men's 110m hurdles, timing in at 14.13, and he also teamed with
Jamar Treasure,
Dervin Walker and
Davian Clarke to place eighth in the 4x100m relay with a time of 41.68. The foursome of Wesley Tyndall,
Shemar Fletcher,
Dimitri Beckford and
Reuben Nichols claimed third in the relay, timing in at 40.54. Tyndall, meanwhile, took seventh in the long jump with a distance of 6.82m.
Kevaughn Goldson finished seventh in the 200m after clocking in at 21.30, and Beckford took eighth in the 100m in 10.82. Goldson, Nichols,
Shanthamoi Brown and
Troy Whyte teamed up in the 4x400m relay to place fourth with a time of 3:14.43. Also competing in the relay were
Leondre Francis,
DauJaughn Murray, Michael Cunningham and
Donovan Bruce, with the foursome finishing in seventh at 3:19.45.
In the women's 4x400m relay, the squad of
Denita Jackson,
Chrissani May,
Maria Diamond and
Shevanae Thomas finished as the runner-up in 3:42.32.
Shantae George clocked in at 56.35 to take sixth in the 400m, and Jackson claimed seventh in 56.82.
Shanette Allison posted an eighth-place result in the 100m hurdles, timing in at 14.18.
Lincoln had three of the top-six finishes in the 100m dash, led by
Hughasia Fyffe, who clocked in at 11.76 to take fourth place.
Jovanna Gustave (11.92) came in fifth while
Monae Carey (12.05) placed sixth. In the 200m,
Shenese Walker took fifth with a time of 24.08, and Fyffe claimed seventh in 24.13.
Next weekend (May 5-7), Lincoln will host the 2023 MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Jefferson City at Dwight T. Reed Stadium.
