EMPORIA, Kan. - The Lincoln men's track & field team broke two meet records, won four events and scored 96 points to finish in third place at the 2022 MIAA Outdoor Championships, hosted by Emporia State University on Sunday (May 8).
Lincoln swept the top-three of the 400m hurdles, with
Troy Whyte posting the winning time of 50.79, a new MIAA Championship record.
Kewani Campbell (51.08) came in second and
Shanthamoi Brown (51.73) took third while
Rashane Bartlett (55.22) placed eighth.
Reuben Nichols had the other meet record, taking the crown in the 400m dash with a time of 46.15.
The 4x400m relay team of
Stavin Brown, Whyte, Nichols and Campbell won after clocking in at 3:10.65, and Nichols also was the victor of the 200m after timing in at 20.94.
Jamar Treasure, meanwhile, claimed third with a time of 21.05 in the 200m.
Treasure was the runner-up of the the 100m, clocking in at 10.25, and Shemar Fletched claimed seventh with a time of 10.79. Treasure, Fletcher, Nichols and
Kizan David also posted a second-place result in the 4x100m relay after finishing in 40.30. David, meanwhile, was the runner-up of the long jump with a distance of 7.60m.
In the 110m hurdles, Whyte (14.02) came in fourth while Bartlett (14.07) placed fifth.
