JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Fourteen members of Lincoln's women's and men's track & field teams have qualified to compete in the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships, hosted by Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan. on March 11-12.
Eight members of the LU women's indoor track & field team will make the trip to Pittsburg, including
Maria Diamond and
Shevanae Thomas, who each will compete in the 400m and as part of Lincoln's 4x400m relay team.
Jameaka Mannings and
Chrissani May round out the 4x400m squad, and
Kelly-Ann Beckford will vie in the 800m.
Shanette Allison qualified for the 60m hurdles, and
Danneika Lyn will run in the 60m dash.
Anna Barclay will represent the Blue Tigers in the triple jump, giving the LU women six individual entries and one relay entry.
Six members of the Blue Tiger men's indoor track & field team will compete at the national championship meet, including
Reuben Nichols, who will represent Lincoln in three events. Nichols qualified for both the 200m and the 400m, and he will also be one of the members of Lincoln's 4x400m relay team.
Rashane Bartlett was selected for the 60m hurdles.
Troy Whyte,
Shanthamoi Brown and
Kewani Campbell are the other members of LU's 4x400m squad, with Whyte also being selected to race in the 400m. In the field events,
Kizan David qualified in both the long jump and the triple jump. The Lincoln men will also have six individual entries and one relay entry.
