PITTSBURG, Kan. -
Kizan David swept the long jump and the triple jump at the Wendy's/PSU MIAA Challenge, hosted by Pittsburg State University on Saturday (Jan. 30). The Lincoln men's indoor track & field team, meanwhile, finished in fifth place after scoring 42 points.
David won the long jump with a leap of 7.16m and took the triple jump with a mark of 14.85m. Both are provisional-qualifying distances for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Stavin Brown placed third in the 800m, clocking in at 1:59.78, and
Shemar Fletcher was the runner-up of the 200m after timing in at 22.28. In the latter event,
Javden Douglas placed 10th at 22.89.
LU also had three athletes finish among the top-10 of the 400m.
Colby Jennings, Jr. led the way with a third-place result after posting a time of 49.02. Reuben Nichols came in seventh with a time of 50.45, and
Yardley Pierre-Louis closed out the top-10 with a time of 50.89.
This weekend, the Blue Tigers will be in Maryville, Mo. for the Bearcat Open, hosted by Northwest Missouri State University on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 5-6).
