KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After setting some of the quickest times in the country at the Kansas Relays last week (April 18-20), Lincoln sprinters Renea Ambersley and Raymone Campbell have been selected as MIAA Track Athletes of the Week. The league office announced the honors, which were voted upon by a select panel of conference sports information directors, on Tuesday evening (April 23).

Ambersley, the MIAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week, won three events at the Kansas Relays against NCAA Division I competition. She took the 400m in 53.45, then helped Lincoln to wins in both the 4x100m (45.42) and 4x400m (3:39.53) relays. Both relay times are Automatic Qualifiers that lead the MIAA, with the 4x100m mark ranking second in Divison II and the 4x400m time rating fourth.

Campbell was selected as the MIAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week after posting the quickest time in NCAA Division II for the 200m with an automatic mark of 20.50 at the Kansas Relays. He also helped Lincoln's 4x100m relay team take second with a time of 40.69. Lincoln was the only Divison II team to qualify for the finals in the 4x100m.

This is the third career athlete of the week award for Ambersley, who was previously named the MIAA Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week on April 16, 2018, and MIAA Indoor Track Athlete of the Week on Dec. 11, 2018, as well as the first career athlete of the week award for Campbell.

Both Lincoln track & field programs will be in Des Moines, Iowa this week (April 25-27) for the Drake Relays, hosted by Drake University.
