INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Lincoln men's track & field team scored 93.5 points to finish in third place at the GLVC Indoor Championships, hosted by the University of Indianapolis on Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 28-March 1).
Malik Drummond won the conference championship in the triple jump with a mark of 15.12m while
Dejone Raymond took third at 14.96m. Raymond additionally placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 2.03m. Dimetri Browne, meanwhile, was the runner-up in the long jump with a distance of 7.40m.
In the 60m hurdles,
Brandon Harris won the GLVC title with a time of 8.00 while
Joshua Dottin (8.03) came in second and
Rondino Dean, Jr. (8.21) took fifth. In the 60m dash, four of the top eight spots were claimed by Blue Tigers:
Tajai Duffus (6.79),
Dimitri Beckford (6.80) and
Rosean Smith (6.85) respectively finished second through fourth, and Namarius Warren (6.95) came in seventh. The Blue Tigers also claimed second in the 4x400m relay, posting a time of 3:19.44.
In the 200m,
Keano Charles clocked in at 21.98 to take fourth place and Duffus (22.08) finished in sixth.
Ryan Jackson placed seventh in the 400m, timing in at 49.64 to round out LU's scoring.
Lincoln will now wait to learn how many entries it will have in the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held in Virginia Beach, Va. on March 13-14.
