MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Lincoln women's indoor track & field team recorded 11 top-10 finishes, including one that broke two records, at the Bearcat Invite, which was hosted by Northwest Missouri State University on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 6-7).
Aaliyannah Anderson broke both the meet and the field house records in the 60m hurdles after winning the event in 8.39.
The Blue Tigers posted two of the top-three results in the 4x400m relay, with the foursome of
Odeshia Nanton,
Quana Walker,
Maria Diamond and
Hannah Charles finishing at the runners-up in 3:50.86. The squad of
Ezthia Maycock, Malika Countain,
Hannah Fatade and Dayjonique Cato claimed third after timing in at 3:56.61.
The Blue Tigers had three of the top-seven times in the invitaional section of the 400m, with Nanton (55.84) taking third, Walker (56.51) coming in fifth and Diamond (58.62) placing seventh. In the invitational 200m race, Walker claimed fourth after clocking in at 24.44.Â
Meanwhile, in the non-invitational 400m, Maycock finished in ninth (58.55) and Countain came in 10th (58.96). In the non-invitational 200m,
Tonya Rawlins (25.22) checked in at ninth and
Alexis Summers (25.27) claimed 11th. LU's other high finish of the meet came in the triple jump, as
Annalisa Barclay rounded out the top10 with her distance of 10.92m.
Lincoln heads to Pittsburg, Kan. next weekend for the 11th Annual Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic, hosted by Pittsburg State University on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 13-14).
