JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Lincoln women's indoor track & field team won seven events at the IC Snow Bird Invite, hosted by Illinois College on Saturday (Jan. 24).
Ezthia Maycock won the 400m in 1:01.04, and
Alexis Summers (26.11) and Tonya Rawlings (26.20) respectively captured first and second in the 200m. The Blue Tigers swept the top-three of the 60m dash, with Rawlins (7.80) claiming first, Summers (7.91) taking second and
Aaliyannah Anderson (7.93) finishing in third.
Hannah Charles was the victor of the 800m, timing in at 2:20.72, while
Hannah Fatade took second (2:22.42) and
Jeneail Henry checked in at sixth (2:31.80). In the 4x400m relay, the squad of Charles, Fatade, Maycock and
Odeshia Nanton won in 4:03.31. The foursome of Anderson, Henry, Summers and
Calah McDonald was the runner-up after clocking in at 4:10.35.
In the distance medley relay, the foursome of Fatade, Charles, Maycock and Henry won in 12:52.68. Kimesha Francis (9.35) and McDonald (10.04) rounded out LU's performance in the track events by taking second and third, respectively, in the 60m hurdles.
Lincoln's other victory was in the long jump, where Francis had the event's farthest leap of 5.52m.
Brittania Ingram (5.50m) was the runner-up,
Mya Williams (4.88m) came in eighth and Shamar-Kaye Fable (4.85m) claimed ninth. Ingram was the runner-up in the triple jump with a distance of 11.29m.Â
In the high jump, Nanton finished in third with a height of 1.55m. McDonald and Francis tied for fourth, as both athletes had jumps of 1.50m. The Blue Tigers also had a good showing in the shot put, where Francis (9.92m) took sixth and
Zoria Shields (9.77m) placed eighth.
Up next for the Blue Tigers is the Washburn Open, hosted by Washburn University in Topeka, Kan. on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 30-31).
