COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Lincoln men's indoor track & field team won four events at the Show Me Showdown, hosted by the University of Missouri on Friday (Jan. 16).
Dimitri Beckford led four Blue Tigers who finished among the top-six in the 60m by winning the event in 6.91. Namarius Warren (6.97) claimed third,
Tajai Duffus (6.99) took fifth and
Dervin Walker (7.00) came in sixth. Meanwhile, in the 60m hurdles, Rondino Dean had the winning time of 8.11 and
Joshua Dotting finished in fourth (8.26).
LU's other two victories came in the field events, with
Dejone Raymond winning the high jump with a meet-record height of 2.06m. Raymond was also the victor of the triple jump, posting a distance of 14.32m, while
David Macklin placed third in that event at 13.82m.
Melon Lowenfield was the runner-up in the long jump with a leap of 7.14m.
The foursome of
Donovan Bruce,
Kevaughn Goldson,
Franklyn Tayloe and
Ryan Jackson took second in the 4x400m relay after timing in at 3:14.51. In the 400m, Bruce (48.52) claimed fourth and Goldson (49.13) took sixth. Lincoln also had a strong meet in the 200m, as Goldson and Walker tied for third with times of 21.66. Duffus finished the 200m in fifth with a time of 21.78 and Beckford took ninth in 21.89.
