INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After leading the Lincoln football team to a 2-0 start, quarterback
Isaiah Tate was named the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week. The league office announced the award on Monday (Sept. 8).
Tate completed 13 passes on 16 attempts for an accuracy rating of 81% during LU's road victory against Lane on Saturday (Sept. 6). Tate threw two touchdown passes, one of 44 yards and another of 26 yards, and finished his efficient performance with 164 passing yards. Lincoln's 27-15 win over the Dragons was LU's first road victory since 2018 and gives the Blue Tigers their first 2-0 start to a season since 1972.
This is the first career athlete of the week award for Tate. He becomes the first Blue Tiger selected as GLVC Offensive Player of the Week since Antwon Davis claimed the honor in 2015.
The Blue Tigers are off this week before opening GLVC play on Saturday, Sept. 20 in Jefferson City. Kickoff from Dwight T. Reed Stadium is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CDT.
