KOHLER, Wis. - The Lincoln men's golf team ended the first round of the PGA WORKS Championship, played at Whistling Straits Golf Club, in third place on Monday (May 5). The Blue Tigers are seven strokes out of first place at the three-round tourney.

Henry Mwanza fired a 73 to end the opening day of the tournament in a tie for fifth place. Blake Meredith, meanwhile, is tied for 11th after shooting a 75.

Nico Tovar Cardona is tied for 15th after carding a 77. Jett Maasen is also in the top-20, as he finished Monday with a 78. 

Alejandro Tovar Cardona rounded out Lincoln's performance by shooting a 90.

The Blue Tigers will play the second round of the PGA WORKS Championship on Tuesday (May 6).
