Sharim Hamilton and
Derick Robinson each won events as the Lincoln men's outdoor track & field team began its 2025 season on Friday and Saturday (March 21-22) at the Miner Invitational, hosted by Missouri S&T.
Hamilton was the victor of the 400m hurdles, timing in at 52.35, while Clinton Laguerre (53.32) was the runner-up and
Joshua Dottin (55.49) came in seventh. Dottin also competed in the 110m hurdles, placing second with a time of 14.81.
Robinson was the winner of the long jump with a leap of 7.29m.
Dejone Raymond also represented the Blue Tigers in the field events, taking third in the high jump (1.93m) and fourth in the triple jump (14.10m).
Dervin Walker was the runner-up of the 100m dash after clocking in at 10.71 and Tajai Duffus rounded out the top-three with his time of 10.75. In the 200m, Walker (21.32) claimed third and Duffus (21.34) finished in fourth. Walker and Duffus also teamed with
Ryan Jackson and Robinson to claim fifth in the 4x100m relay after timing in at 42.39.
Up next for the Blue Tigers is the CMU Invite, hosted by Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. on Friday and Saturday (March 28-29).
