PITTSBURG, Kan. - The Lincoln women's indoor track & field team opened its season this weekend at the Crimson & Gold Invitational, hosted by Pittsburg State University on Friday and Saturday (Dec. 5-6).
Alexis Summers won the 200m dash, clocking in at 24.84, and
Aaliyannah Anderson was the runner-up with a time of 24.88. Anderson was also the runner-up of the 60m hurdles after timing in at 8.51.
Odeshia Nanton took third in the 400m with a time of 56.20 and Quana Walker claimed sixth in 59.68. Nanton and Walker also teamed with Hannah Charles and Malika Countain to take fourth in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:48.75. Charles, meanwhile, claimed 10th in the 800m at 2:18.58.
In the field events,
Annalisa Barclay placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.60m, and
Brittania Ingram took eighth in that event with a mark of 11.17m. Kimishia Franics took 12th in both the high jump (1.59m) and the long jump (5.18m).
The Blue Tigers travel to Bloomington, Ind. next Friday (Dec. 12) to compete in the Indiana Early Bird Meet, hosted by Indiana University.
