Malik Drummond won the triple jump, highlighting the Lincoln men's indoor track & field team's season-opening performance at the Crimson & Gold Invitational, hosted by Pittsburg State University on Friday and Saturday (Dec. 5-6).
Drummond topped the field in the triple jump with his distance of 14.92m.
David Macklin took ninth in that event, posting a distance of 13.24m, and
Melon Lowenfield claimed 12th at 13.07m. In the long jump, Lowenfield claimed third with a jump of 7.16m, and Drummond took 12th with a leap of 6.57m.
Brandon Harris clocked in at 8.10 to take fourth in the 60m hurdles while
Joshua Dottin placed 10th with a time of 8.29.
Dervin Walker claimed sixth in the 200m, timing in at 22.00. In the 400m, Keano Charles (48.13) took fourth,
Donovan Bruce (48.53) came in sixth and Kevaughn Goldson (49.16) rounded out the top-10.
The Blue Tigers also took sixth in the 4x400m relay, as the foursome of Bruce, Harris, Charles and
Ryan Jackson clocked in at 3:13.90.
Lincoln travels to Bloomington, Ind. next Friday (Dec. 12) to compete in the Indiana Early Bird Meet, hosted by Indiana University.
