THE TIP OFF:  The Lincoln women's basketball team plays its first two road GLVC games of 2025-26 this week with visits to Iowa and Illinois. Lincoln will be in Fayette, Iowa on Thursday (Dec. 4) to play Upper Iowa at 5:00 p.m. CST. The Blue Tigers then travel to Romeoville, Ill. on Saturday (Dec. 6) to take on Lewis in a 1:00 p.m. CST contest. The Blue Tigers are currently 1-1 in league play after splitting a pair of home games last week. LU beat Southwest Baptist, 59-54, last Saturday (Nov. 29), but dropped a hard-fought game against Missouri S&T, 55-48, on Monday night (Dec. 1). Upper Iowa and Lewis are both 1-0 in GLVC play; UIU beat Quincy, 91-83, while the Flyers beat Indianapolis, 63-48.
 
FAST BREAKS
- Thursday marks the fifth meeting all-time between the Blue Tigers and the Peacocks. The series is currently tied, 2-2.
 
- Lincoln won each of its first two games against Upper Iowa, both of which happened when LU was still in the MIAA. The first two GLVC meetings took place last year, and Upper Iowa swept the series.
 
- On Saturday, Lincoln will play Lewis for just the third time ever.
 
- Lewis won both of the first two games of the series, each of which took place in 2024-25.
 
PREVIEWING THE BLUE TIGERS:  With 17.6 ppg., Laini Joseph has been Lincoln's top scorer this season, followed by Hallie Williamson with 12.0 ppg. Joseph is LU's leading rebounder with 7.0 per game, followed by Aaliyah Smith with 6.0 per night. Bella Borgos averages 8.3 points while Kennedy Jones leads LU in assists (2.6) and steals (2.3) while tallying 4.1 boards per contest.
 
HEAD COACH ADDAE HOUSTON:  A 17-year coaching veteran with strong ties to Missouri, Houston is in his second season as the head coach of the Blue Tigers. Houston helped Division I Northwestern State record a .714 home winning percentage in 2023-24 following a successful four-year run as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Northwest Missouri.

Lincoln 59, Southwest Baptist 54
Lincoln rallied from an 11-point second half deficit to win its GLVC opener, 59-54, against Southwest Baptist on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 29) in Jason Gym. Laini Joseph led LU with 19 points and eight rebounds while Bella Borgos scored 17 and Hallie Williamson added 11. Kenned Jones dished five assists and Aaliyah Smith chipped in eight points.
 
Missouri S&T 55, Lincoln 48
The Blue Tigers held Missouri S&T to .310 overall and .143 three-point shooting percentages while forcing 22 turnovers, but a late fourth-quarter run allowed the Miners to escape Jefferson City with a 55-48 win on Monday (Dec. 1). Laini Joseph posted a double-double, leading Lincoln with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
 
SCOUTING THE PEACOCKS:  Bryar Duwe is a strong all-around player, averaging 8.7 points, 5.0 rebounds (the team-high) and 2.8 assists. The top scorer for UIU is Ava Privet, who averages 13.0 points and 4.5 rebounds, while Ellie Foster is next with 12.3 points per contest. Sydnee Nelson tallies a team-leading 3.8 assists per contest while also averaging 7.5 points.
 
UIU HEAD COACH JUSTIN MAASS:  The fourth-year coach of the Peacocks joined Upper Iowa after a successful three-year tenure as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Morehead State. At UIU, Maass has notched 41 wins, the biggest of which was a victory over McKendree, which was seeded second, in the GLVC tourney in 2023-24, as this was the first postseason win in Upper Iowa history.
 
SCOUTING THE FLYERS:  Lewis averages 56.7 points while allowing 61.2 points per game. There are three Lewis players averaging double digit points, led by Yahaira Bueno (13.8 ppg.). Jasmine Jones averages 9.5 points and 6.0 boards while Ally Cesarini and Mallory Ramage are each averaging 10.3 points. Kree Nunnally is next with 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
 
LU HEAD COACH DODIE DUNSON, JR.:  In his first season as the head coach at Lewis, Dunson has the Flyers off to a 1-0 start in GLVC play. He brings a wealth of Division I experience with him to Lewis, as he was previously an assistant at SIU-Edwardsville, Illinois-Chicago, Evansville, Western Illinois and Alabama-Birmingham. He spent a combined 14 years at those six schools.
 
SHOOTING STARS:  Laini Joseph leads the GLVC, and ranks 18th in Division II, with 108 field goal attempts this season. Joseph has made 41 field goals, rating her first in the league as well as 48th in the nation. Hallie Williams is 13th in the conference in made field goals with 30. She's averaging 12.0 points while Joseph averages 17.6, the third-most in the GLVC.
 
SCORING CHAMP:  Early in 2025-25, LU's Laini Joseph has emerged as one of the best scorers in the GLVC. Through seven games, Joseph has 123 points, the most of any GLVC player as well as the 27th-most of any NCAA Division II player. Her 17.6 points per game rank third in the league and she is also fourth in rebounds (49) and third in total three-pointers made (17).
 
I'LL TAKE IT:  Kennedy Jones has been one of the best ball thieves in the country, as her 16 total steals rank her 62nd in NCAA Division II. She is averaging 2.3 steals per contest, the fifth-most by any GLVC player. Jones, who is also averaging 4.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists, has had at least one steal in every game this season, and has notched at least three steals in four of those contests.
 
DEFENDING THE LEAGUE:  The Blue Tigers rank among the best in the GLVC in several defensive statistics, including field goal percentage, as LU allows opponents to shoot .348, which is the fourth-lowest success rate in the league and the 43rd in the country. LU is third in the GLVC in three-point defense (.268), fifth in turnovers forced (18.9), fifth in defensive boards (26.9) and sixth in blocks (2.4).
 
ROAD WARRIORS:  Most of Lincoln's games through the first two months of the season are on the road, as LU had just two home games in November and has two in the month of December in 2025. LU will be on the road until Dec. 18, when it closes the year vs. Missouri Western.
