KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Every player who suited up for the Lincoln women's basketball team scored at least two points on Saturday (Feb. 14), but the Blue Tigers dropped an 84-50 decision to Truman State.
Bella Borgos led LU with 15 points, nine of which came on three-point shots, and grabbed three rebounds while recording a steal.
Hallie Williamson, who had a rebound and a steal, was next with eight points, and
Kaleah Toran finished with seven points, three boards, a pair of steals, a block and an assist.
The main difference on Saturday was how the teams played in the first and third quarters. Truman State (15-9, 12-4 GLVC) went on a 22-7 run during the first 10 minutes of play, part of a performance in which the Bulldogs shot .483 from the field. The Bulldogs later scored 28 points in the third period. Lincoln (4-20, 2-15 GLVC) forced TSU into 16 turnovers, but the Bulldogs finished with a 48-27 advantage on the glass.
Kennedy Jones led the Blue Tigers with three steals and three assists while chipping in five points and pulling down a rebound.
Kiara Cabrera and
Isis Sanders each tallied five point and three rebounds, with Cabrera additionally providing two assists and a steal.
Taelyn Smith and
Aaliyah Smith tied for the team-lead in rebounding with five apiece.
Taelyn Smith also finished with three points, a trio of assists and a pair of steals.
Aaliyah Smith, meanwhile, had two points and a takeaway.
Lincoln plays the first of its final two home games of the season on Thursday (Feb. 19) when the Blue Tigers host William Jewell at 5:30 p.m. CST.
