INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After leading the Lincoln men's soccer team to a shutout victory in its first match since 2001, goalkeeper Vincent Osei has been selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The GLVC announced the honor on Monday (Sept. 9).

Osei faced eight shots total, three on goal, and recorded three saves as the Blue Tigers beat Lee, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 8). Lincoln, which is playing in its first season as a full member of the GLVC, brought back men's soccer in 2023 and played its first regular season match since the program was resumed this past weekend.

This is the first weekly honor presented by the GLVC in 2024. Osei was celebrated alongside McKendree's Philipp Schmidt, the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week.

Lincoln will host Harris Stowe on Friday (Sept. 13) at JCHS Soccer Field at 7:00 p.m. CDT.
