LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Lincoln women's outdoor track & field team turned in 21 top-10 results competing against NCAA Division I opponents at the Rock Chalk Classic, hosted by the University of Kansas on Saturday (April 27).
Shantae George won the 100m, timing in at 11.45, while
Monae Carey (11.90) and Aaliyannah Anderson (11.93) respectively placed ninth and 10th. Shaneal Clarke-Giddings won the 800m with a time of 2:13.83 while Doreen Onchangu finished in fourth in that event after posting a time of 2:17.41. Lincoln came in second in both the 4x100m (45.71) and 4x400m (3:44.43) relays.
Ellis Cohen was the runner-up of the high jump with a height of 1.60m while
Nehlia Mills came in fourth at 1.55m.
Annalisa Barclay finished in fourth in the long jump (5.52m) and fifth in the triple jump (12.31m).
Shevanae Thomas, meanwhile, was the victor of the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.80, and
Maria Diamond finished in fourth place with a time of 1:00.68.
Denita Jackson posted an eight-place result in the 200m after timing in at 24.42. In the 400m,
Odeshia Nanton (56.34) took fifth, Jackson (57.29) came in sixth,
Abigail Brooks (57.42) checked in at seventh and
Nattesha Palmer (58.77) finished in ninth. In the 110m hurdles, Anderson (14.13) was the runner-up while Shanetta Allison (14.68) placed fifth and
Ray-Donna Lee (16.06) took ninth.
The Blue Tigers will compete in the MIAAÂ Outdoor Track & Field Championship next week, which will be hosted by Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo. on May 3-5.
