NORMAN, Okla. - Facing a field full of NCAA Division I competition, the Lincoln women's outdoor track & field team posted 10 top-10 finishes at the John Jacobs Invitational, hosted by the University of Oklahoma on Friday and Saturday (April 12-13).
Shantae George placed fourth in the 100m (11.62) and eighth in the 200m (24.60) while
Shevanae Thomas placed sixth in the 400m with a time of 55.58.
Shaneal Clarke Giddings claimed fifth in the 800m, timing in at 2:14.09, and clocked in at 5:00.66 to take 12th in the 1500m.
Aaliyannah Anderson placed sixth in the 100m hurdles, timing in at 14.89. In the 400m hurdles,
Odeshia Nanton (1:01.33) came in fourth and Thomas (1:02.19) placed sixth.
Nehlia Mills, meanwhile, checked in at 10th in the high jump with a mark of 1.60m.
The foursome of Clarke Giddings, Nanton, Thomas and George placed third in the 4x400m relay, as the squad finished with a time of 3:43.56. In the 4x100m relay, the team of Anderson, Thomas, George and
Monae Carey clocked in at 46.45 to take fourth place.
Up next for the Blue Tigers is the Kansas Relays, hosted by the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan. on April 18-20, and the Dewey Allgood Invitational, hosted by Missouri S&T University in Rolla, Mo. on April 20.
