PITTSBURG, Kan. - The Lincoln women's indoor track & field team scored four points to finish in a tie for 36th while the LU men tied for 41st with three points at the NCAA Division II Championship meet, hosted by Pittsburg State University on Friday and Saturday (March 8-9).
The Lincoln women finished in fifth in the 4x400m relay, clocking in at 3:41.47. The team included
Shevanae Thomas,
Shaneal Clarke Giddings,
Shantae George and
Odeshia Nanton, and all four Blue Tigers earned first team All-American status with their performance.
Annalisa Barclay, meanwhile, represented LU in the triple jump and finished in 12th with a distance of 12.12m, making her a second team All-American.
The LU men timed in at 3:11.51 to place sixth in the 4x400m relay. Also becoming first team All-Americans were the four members of that team:
Sharim Hamilton,
Leondre Francis,
Shanthamoi Brown and
Emmanuel Rwotomiya. Francis, meanwhile, earned second team All-American status on Friday by taking 11th in the preliminaries of the 400m.
With the indoor season concluded, Lincoln's teams turn their attention to the upcoming outdoor track & field season, which begins for LU at the ESU Relays, hosted by Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan. on March 28.
