THE TIP OFF:Â Two more rematches await the Lincoln women's basketball team, which plays a pair of home games this week. On Thursday (Feb. 15), the Blue Tigers host the Tigers of Fort Hays State. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. CST for this game, a rematch of a contest played in Hays, Kan. back on Jan. 6. Fort Hays State, then ranked No. 16 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division II poll, won that meeting, 74-62. On Saturday (Feb. 17), Lincoln plays Nebraska Kearney for the second time this season at 1:00 p.m. CST. The teams last met on Jan. 4 in Kearney, Neb., with the Lopers pulled out a 77-57 win over the Blue Tigers. Both Fort Hays State and Nebraska Kearney enter the week having won two games in a row, with each team defeating Newman and Central Oklahoma last week. The Blue Tigers are trying to end a seven-game skid.
FAST BREAKS
- This Thursday marks the 22nd meeting between LU and FHSU, with Fort Hays State leading the series, 20-1.
- Lincoln's last win over FHSU came on the road, 76-75, in 2011-12.
- Lincoln will play Nebraska Kearney on Saturday for the 17th time, with the Lopers leading the series, 15-1.
- The Blue Tigers beat Nebraska Kearney during the 2014-15 season inside Jason Gym, 90-68.
PREVIEWING THE BLUE TIGERS:Â Leading the Blue Tigers in both scoring (14.7) and rebounding (7.2) is Ashlyn Alloway, who also has 33 steals and 25 blocks. Steph Torres averages 12.0 points as well as a team-high 2.4 assists while Imani Jones is next on the scoring chart with 7.5 ppg. AJ Bradley averages 7.0 points while Biance Stocks averages 4.6 points and 2.5 boards.
HEAD COACH ANDREA MIZE:Â Andrea Mize is in her fourth year as the head coach at Lincoln after a successful two-year run at Central Florida College. In 2019-20, Mize led CFC to a 19-win year that included a victory in the first round of the FCSAA playoffs. Mize previously was an assistant at Martin Methodist, helping the program reach the NAIA national tournament three times.

Central Missouri 77, Lincoln 44
Ashlyn Alloway led the Blue Tigers with 20 points and grabbed five rebounds to go with four steals and a block, but Lincoln dropped a 77-44 decision to Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. back on Feb. 3. Hanne Nybo pulled down a team-high six rebounds while Steph Torres scored nine points.
#24 Missouri Southern 76, Lincoln 57
Missouri Southern, ranked No. 24 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's Division II poll, shot .481 from the field and .438 from three-point range to beat Lincoln, 76-57, on Thursday (Feb. 8). In a statistical rarity, it was the exact same score as the first time the teams met back on Dec. 16. LU was led by Steph Torres with 15 points and AJ Bradley added 10.
Pittsburg State 88, Lincoln 70
Steph Torres poured in 22 points and AJ Bradley had 13, but Pittsburg State raced off to a 24-3 start en route to an 88-70 victory over the Blue Tigers on Saturday (Feb. 10). Ashlyn Alloway, who scored 10, and Hanne Nybo each tied for the team-lead with six rebounds while Kiara Cabrera came off the bench to provide nine points.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS:Â Katie Wagner leads Fort Hays State with 16.7 points and 8.6 boards per game and averages 2.8 assists and 2.4 steals. Olivia Hollenbeck is next on the scoring chart with 11.7 points per contest, Sydney Golladay dishes a team-high 3.6 assists per game and Emma Ruddle averages 7.5 points.
FHSU HEAD COACH TALIA KAHRS:Â Kahrs is in her first season as the head coach at Fort Hays State after spending the previous 11 years as the program's top assistant. Kahrs helped FHSU win 293 games as an assistant coach with 12-straight 20-win seasons. She has also helped lead FHSU to four MIAA regular season championships and two MIAA tournament titles.
SCOUTING THE LOPERS:Â Shiloh McCool is almost averaging a double-double, leading UNK with 13.2 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Kia Wilson averages 10.6 points while Meg Burns is averaging 10.2 points per contest. Jillian Aschoff is the fourth Loper averaging double digits with 10.3 points per night.
UNK HEAD COACH DREW JOHNSON:Â The first-year coach of the Lopers is no stranger to the MIAA, as he coached at Newman for two years, posting a 13-43 record. Johnson, who is 17-6 with the Lopers, helped rebuild Bethel from a four-win team to a 20-win program as the head coach between 2017-21.
THEME NIGHTS:Â Thursday night's (Feb. 15) game against Fort Hays State will be a "Black Out" game for the Blue Tigers, with fans asked to show up wearing black. Saturday (Feb. 17) is the annual Think Pink game, with fans encouraged to join the Blue Tigers in wearing pink to support the search for a cure for cancer. Feb. 29 is Greek Night as well as the annual Coaches vs. Cancer game while the regular season finale on March 2 will be a "White Out" as well as Senior Day. Fans are asked to wear white for LU's last game of the regular season.
SECOND WATCH: AJ Bradley has excelled at getting to the line, as, in four years at Lincoln, she has attempted 429 free throws. Bradley has made 291 of those attempts and has moved into third place all-time in program history in total career made free throws. She passed Sheila Lee, who made 257 free throws between 2001-04. Bradley is now just eight free throws away from second place, held by Andrea Sykes, who made 298 free throws from 1995-99.
SHOOTING STAR:Â Ashlyn Alloway is shooting .496 from the field, a shooting percentage that ranks third in the MIAA and 61st in NCAA Division II. Alloway has made 123 total field goals, the seventh-most this year by an MIAA player. Alloway, who also rates ninth in the MIAA in scoring (14.7), is additionally shooting .348 from three-point range and .761 at the line.
TORR DE FORCE:Â Steph Torres, who leads Lincoln with 2.4 assists per game, has emerged as LU's second-leading scorer with 12.0 points per night. Torres ranks 19th in the MIAA in total assists (53) and her 32.2 minutes per game are the ninth-most in the league.
TURN IT OVER:Â Lincoln has been one of the best teams in the MIAA in forcing turnovers, rating third in the league with 17.2 takeaways per game. The Blue Tigers have won the turnover battle 11 times in 2023-24 and have a 6-5 record in such games.
